...the world is a great big onion
AS a senior creative with 18 years studio experience, I have witnessed in those short years the revolutionary change in how we communicate and how creative technology has effected graphic communication through the traditional media of print to the ever expanding on-line and digital media. I am not the first to state the historical importance of the impact of communication through on-line and digital media which ranks as one of the most important advances in technology and society since Gutenberg's press.
How we communicate as a species is basically the same as when we inhabited caves. We use visual and audio processes that translate to language, image, sound transmitted through a variety of media, an onion of many layers each having simplicity or complexity depending on its functions, my intention while I am studying for the MA Creative Technology is to creatively explore with digital technology utilising different media, seeing what I can produce from a practical and social perspective ...the world is a great big onion

Major Project 2011:
me, me, me... a photographic and video artwork
This artwork attempts to capture in a short time span, moments of anger, madness, crazy wanderings, ideas and aspirations of total self belief. A static two dimensional image and video installation that works to combine an evocative installation.
The presence of a large portrait that invites the audience into the subjects life, through the portals of the subjects eyes or facial area. The video content seamlessly works with the portrait, engages the audience with a narrative behind a mask of the subjects eyes/face that is layered on top of the playing video content punctuated with sound and sub-titles, that adds more life and depth to the narrative of self importance.
